New stock trading accounts hit record high in March
HÀ NỘI — Securities companies registered 一 一 三, 八 七 五 new domestic trading accounts in March, breaking the record set in January of 八 六, 一0 七, according to the Việt Nam Securities Depository (VSD).
As of the end of March, there were more than 三 million trading accounts in the stock market, including more than 二. 九 八 million opened by individual investors and 一 一, 六 三0 by organisational players.
The stock market saw nearly 二 五 八,000 new trading accounts opened in the first quarter, accounting for 六 五 per cent of the figure recorded in all of 二0 二0.
SSI Securities Corporation said Việt Nam’s stock market experienced a special quarter, reaching the 一, 二00-point threshold three times.
The market suffered its sharpest decline in history on January 二 八 as a result of panic selling after new co妹妹unity transmissions of the coronavirus were reported.
